Robotics and Sensors

Within this Learning Community you will find, among others, assignments from the Nanobio, Nanophysics and Smart mechatronics and Robotics research groups. The development of robots is going fast and there are more and more new applications. Think of all the things drones are already being used for, such as inspecting structures that are difficult to reach to delivering packages. the use of drones by the fire brigade for extinguishing, the use of drones for maintenance of wind turbines, autonomous navigation with ground robots in an industrial environment, the use of robots in the automation of production processes or the use of the robot dog for reconnaissance of potentially dangerous environments by the police. But also think of sensor technology: the use of thermal cameras to detect fire in an environment with smoke, the use of vision in combination with machine learning for classification or sensor fusion to use the advantages of various sensor technologies to detect objects even better, the smart and faster detection of diseases in blood, urine or in barn air. You can count on high-tech assignments.

Will you help develop these or come up with new applications?
